Edwin was confirmed Sept. 23, 1928 at St. James Lutheran Church rural Humboldt Nebraska. He was the son of Chris F. and Wilhelmina Sodman. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1935. He died at the age of 49 years.
He was married November 20, 1938 at the home of wife's parents Haze and Hazel Logsdon, north of Tecumseh, Johnson, Nebraska. She was Donna Corinne Logsdon b: 1919, Tecumseh, Nebraska. Edwin and Donna had three children, two sons and a daughter, Robert, Richard and Patricia. Edwin and Donna divorced December 2, 1954.
Edwin remarried January 23, 1955, in Jackson County Missouri, to Verna Cathryn Phillips b: June 24, 1928. After marriage to Cathryn they moved to Topeka, Kansas, where he was employed as executive assistant for the Kansas Restaurant Association for the 9 years before he passed away. Edwin and Verna had 2 daughters, Lynda and Lori. His mother lived in Auburn, and he had a brother Arnold C. Sodman of Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas.
Funeral services were held January 4, 1964 at May and Timm Funeral chapel in Auburn. Interment was at Sheridan Cemetery, Auburn, Nemaha County, Nebraska.
