Alice Ford, 95, of Boise, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park.

Alice was born November 27, 1905 in Arville, N.D. She was the third of 12 children born to Howard and Grace Douglas. She spent most of her younger years in North Dakota and Montana, and moved to the Twin Falls area when she was still a teen.

Cooking was one of her greatest talents. Early experiences included cooking for threshing crews on the family's farms, and for her large family of brothers and sisters. Her skills enabled her to secure jobs in Twin Falls during the depression years when often she was the only family member who had employment, supporting sisters' families, and her own young daughter.

Alice and Floyd Ford moved to McCall in 1942 where they built their own cafe on Highway 55. They added apartments and a motel and were known as Ford's Cafe and Motel. Floyd died in 1965 and Alice continued to operate the business herself until 1975 when she retired and sold the business.

Alice moved to Boise, where she lived in her own home until the time of her death.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Paul Billings of Boise; daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Kit Morse of Elko, Nev.; step daughter and son-in-law, Tillie and Gilbert Rodrigues of Lovelock, Nev. and sister, Pearle Flynn of Gooding, Idaho; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Husband, Floyd Ford, and daughter, Joyce Paradis preceded her in death.

I received a notice from a contributor in August, 2013, with the following message. Therefore I have moved the memorial to the cemetery where the marker is.

"I recently fulfilled a photo request for Clara Ford. In doing so, I found out that she is buried in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens (Boise, ID) as opposed to Cloverdale Memorial Park (Boise, ID). "
