Mrs. Ruby Pearl Hollis, 93, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:15 A.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the NHC Healthcare.
Born February 27, 1913 in Hopkins County, KY she was the daughter of the late Lewis Whitson Allen and Ada Lynch Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norris Durwood Hollis on April 23, 1981, and by one sister and four brothers.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasantview Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mildred "Millie" Hollis of Madisonville; one son, Randall Hollis of Madisonville, and two grandchildren, Aaron Hollis of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Ashley Hollis of Madisonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September, 9, 2006, at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 8, 2006, and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Harold Allen, Darrell Allen, Kenneth Allen, Gerald Allen, Buddy Castle and Paul Marks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aaron Hollis, Vickie Hollis and Ashley Hollis.
Memorials may take the form of donations to Gideon's International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
