MARTINSVILLE – Ricky Lee Atkins, 49, of 722 Druid Lanes, formerly of Lawsonville, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge. Interment will follow in the Joyce Family Cemetery, Lawsonville, NC.

Ricky was born July 6, 1961, in Stokes County, to the late Howard "Pete" Atkins and Jettie Ann Joyce Atkins. He was employed with Weiland Copper Products where he had worked for 27 years as a security clerk. Ricky loved riding his Harley Davidson bike. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

Survivors include his mother, Jettie Ann Joyce Atkins; wife, Jan Price Atkins; son, Russell (Melissa Raines) Atkins; stepdaughters, Carrie Clark, Kaicey Clark, and Kristen Price; brothers, Yancey (Carolyn) Atkins, Wayne (Judy) Atkins, Keith (Rita) Atkins, and Randolph (Marie) Atkins; sisters, Brenda Kay (Timmy) Stovall and Carolyn Riley; grandchild (soon to be born), Clara Ann Atkins; former wife, Ann Rakes Marion; and several special nieces and nephews.
