MULLINS - After an illness of more than a year, E. A. Atkinson, well known farmer, died at his home south of Mullins Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. In the death of Mr. Atkinson the community loses a good citizen.
He was born and reared in Marion County and spent the 74 years of his life here living an upright Christian life.
Mr. Atkinson leaves eight children. One son, Aubrey Atkinson, is connected with the state highway department.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at his residence by his pastor, the Rev. J. H. Danner of the Methodist Church and the remains will be carried to his old home near Gresham, where they will be interred in the Souls Chapel graveyard, beside his wife, who died ten years ago.
