Malcolm D. Purcell, age 86, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 16, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield KY. He was born on March 26, 1925, in Grayson Co., KY, the son of the late Clarence Ray and Ona Dennison Purcell. He was a retired farmer, a board member of the Grayson County Water District and worshipped at the Falls of Rough Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Alvena Duggins Purcell of Caneyville, four daughters, Phyllis Stratton of Shelbyville, KY, Teresa Buckles (Dennis) and Cathy Anderson (Barry) both of Caneyville and Peggy Davis (Bill) of Leitchfield, one son, Tim Purcell (Carla) of Caneyville, one brother, Cecil Purcell of Caneyville, twelve grandchildren, Leigh Farris, Jennifer Farris-Case, Kendra Cloyd, Kara Stratton, Mark Buckles, Martha Hayes, Marita Minnich, Hannah Anderson, Logan and Teryl Davis, and Macy and Andy Purcell, six great-grandchildren, Taylor Buckles, Jourdan Farris, Jorydan and Mason Case, Chance Cloyd and Reese Hayes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (April 20, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Roger Allen will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the American Lung Association.
