Thomas William Amesbury, 69, of Boyne City, died Saturday, Jan, 6,2001, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Stackus Funeral home in Boyne City with the Rev. Milton walls officiating.
Tom was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Iron Mountain, the son of Charles and Florence (Cunningham) Amesbury.
He was a Great Lakes maritime sailor for several years and then owned and operated Tom Amesbury Painting.
On Aug. 26, 1978, he married Nancy Coulter Gross.
Mr. Amesbury was a life member of the Eagles of Boyne City.
Through his death, Tom helped many people as a Gift of Life donor.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Boyne City; four children Dennis (Janie) Amesbury of Boyne City, Kim (Amy) Amesbury of Rockford, Kris (Doug) Leist of Boyne City, and Michele (Bryce) Hewitt of Boyne City; two stepdaughters, Jayne (Elwood) Howard of Boyne City and Susan (Bruce) Ostrander of Mount Morris; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers Larry Amesbury of Petoskey and Daniel (Jackie) Amesbury of LLiff, Colo; and one sister, Cynthia (Jack) Fraley of Boyne City.
