Edwin Lewis Fyock, 81, of Worthington, died Friday, April 15, 2011. Born Nov. 11, 1929, he was a son of the late Percy and Bertha (Berkey) Fyock. He was a veteran of the Korean War in which he received the Silver Star and Bronze Star with V for Valor for bravery above and beyond the call of duty. He retired from Pullman Standard and Allegheny Axle in Butler. He drove special bus for Barker Transportation. He was a member and Honor Guard for American Legion Post 0828. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Barrett) Fyock; a son, Steven Fyock and his wife, Joann, of Worthington; two daughters, Tamara (Michael) Simon, of Templeton, and Amy (Timothy) Barney, of North East; and a grandson, Kevin Simon, of Templeton. He is also survived by three brothers, Ernest (Obreda) Fyock, Jack (Nancy) Fyock and Harry (Jean) Fyock; and a sister, Nancy (Darryl) Galbraith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald Fyock, Boyd Fyock, Howard Fyock, James Fyock and Justin Fyock; and two sisters, Lois Walker and Sarah Shull. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the KENNEDY & BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. Additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Ron Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
