The Progress, Clearfield, Pa., Saturday Evening, July 10, 1954 -- Frederick Hite, 77, Former Lawrence Twp. Constable, Dies -- Frederick Hite, 77, of 417 Shaw St., Plymptonville, well-known former constable of Lawrence Township, died at his home at 11:15 yesterday. - He was born Oct. 15, 1876, at Bald Hill, Clearfield County and had retired several years ago as a constable. - Surviving are his wife, Ida, and and the following children: Mrs. Joseph Spingola, Miss Marie Hite, both of Clearfield; Mrs. Joseph Mabie, Hyde; Mrs. Ivan Kyler, Kittanning; Mrs. Alverta Reynolds and Robert Hite, at home and Miss Margaret Hite, Niagara Falls. One brother, James Hite, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. - Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m. from his home with Rev. E. Roy Hauser, D. D. officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. - Friends may call at his home this afternoon and until time of services.
