Frederick Coney Allen, 80, passed away on June 13, 2005. He was born in Tampa*, FL and resided in Jacksonville Beaches most of his life. Mr. Allen retired from Fletcher High School in 1987 after over 20 years of service and was a member of St. Paul's By the Sea Episcopal Church. He fought bravely as a volunteer in the American Field Service during WWII in Burma and was a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. His influence and deeds will be remembered by all who knew him and he will be sorely missed. He was predeceased by his sister, Caroline Futch and a son, Frederick Wilcox Allen. Survivors include his son, Jackson M. (Lisa) Allen; brother, John David (Frances) Allen; and two grandchildren: Jackson Marshall Allen and Katelin Elizabeth Allen. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 20th, 2005 at St. Paul's By the Sea Episcopal Church, 465 11th Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach, FL; The Reverend Dr. Sudduth Rea Cummings officiating. In lieu of flowers contri butions may be made in Mr. Allen's name to the Humane Society or the Highlands Historical Society, P.O. Box 670, Highlands, NC 28741.
