Having dinner with his wife and friends when his heart failed him. He was and still is a truly gentle man, loved by his family and the many people he worked and lived with at the Fire Stations in the San Diego area. He was married to Susie for 32 years,a Fire Fighter for 28 years, lived in the same house for 24 years and drove the same 1967 brown Mustang for 31 years. Well over 500 people at his funeral at ST. Michael's Catholic Church of Poway Calif. They first had a Mass for him with Father Mooney. Then the Fire Fighters had a Memorial Service with Rabbi Gottesman, he is the Chaplain for the Fire Dept. Five of his fellow Fire Fighters passed and present made great remarks about working and playing with this great man. His uncle Charles McGrath also spoke on be half of the McGrath clan. He loved Australia, but only lived there for about total of 5 to 6 years.some of these were his teen years. He had friends all his life in Sydney that he visited with over the years. His Mom and Dad moved back to Australia in 1959 when his Dad got out of the US Navy. Kit came back in the spring of 1962 and he joined the US Navy, after his duty time was up, lived in the San Diego area all his life.
