ASHEVILLE, NC - Billy Floyd Spradley, 71, of Idlewood Dr., Asheville, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, in Asheville.
A native of Pelion, SC, he was a son of the late Vernon and Corine Rish Spradley.
Mr. Spradley was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an auditor for the State of North Carolina and a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church, Asheville, where he was financial secretary for many years. He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and flood disaster rebuilding teams in North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Gailey Spradley; daughters Sonia Eldridge and husband James of Asheville, Karen Jackson and husband Scott of San Diego, CA, and Kelly Spradley-Kurowski and husband Chris Kurowski of Hanover, VA; grandchildren Emily Eldridge and Scott A. Jackson, Jr.; sisters Betty Gunter and husband H.D., Reba Hollis and husband Roger; brother Hoyt Spradley and wife Mary; sisters-in-law Betty Jean Spradley, and Evelyn DiLavore and husband Phillip.
