Martha S. Horne Creasy, age 87, a longtime Bloomsburg-area resident, died Saturday morning, April 9, 2011, at the Geisinger Medical Center. Martha was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Danville, the daughter of the late Warren S. and Bertie Edna Moser Fenstermacher.
Martha attended elementary school in Mausdale and graduated from Danville High School in 1942. She married George A. Horne on Dec. 24, 1943. She worked for many years at various businesses, including nine years as a cook for the Bloomsburg Area School District. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her first husband, George A. Horne, on Jan. 20, 1972; and her second husband, Donald Creasy, on Sept. 20, 1982; and a brother, Wilson Fenstermacher.
Survivors include three sons: Keith A. Horne and wife, Mary Lou, of Corning, N.Y.; Kenneth L. Horne and wife, Mary, of Kent, Wash.; and James M. Horne and wife, Patty, of Bellefonte; six grandchildren: Scott Horne, Kevin Horne, Jessica Klinger, Allison Miller, Stacey Harper and Michael Horne; two great-grandchildren: Alex and Aaron Klinger; four step-children: Janice Robinson and husband, Howard, of Coatesville; Diane Durante and husband, Sal, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; William Creasy of Havre de Grace, Md.; and Patricia Gehret and husband, David, of Baltimore, Md.; and one brother, Myron Fenstermacher, of Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street, in Bloomsburg. Burial will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. or prior to the services on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Meals on Wheels. 702 Sawmill Rd., Bloomsburg.
