Louretta was born in Albany, Kentucky, to the late Arthur L. and Minnie (Catron) York.
Louretta spent her life as a seamstress. She was a member of the Muncie Eagles Lodge. She loved to dance and sew, and enjoyed traveling and restoring old homes.
Louretta is survived by her son, Harold Evans (wife-Barbara) of Springport; two sisters, Maxine Harlow of Indianapolis,and Doxie Bertram of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Tracy Lee Evans of Austin, Texas, Kelly Sue Evans of Lafayette, and Christopher Carson Evans (wife-Cheryl) of Middletown; two great-grandchildren, Hank Austin Evans and Cory Lee Evans, both of Middletown; a special friend, Andy Swafford; and several nieces and nephews.
Louretta was preceded in death by her first husband, Blogic Evans; her second husband, Ivan Hurst; a brother, Lee Arnold York; and a sister, Helen Blevins.
A funeral to celebrate Louretta's life will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, with Pastor Carl Stone officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials contributions may be given to Ball Memorial Hospice, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
