Cathy had a passion for teaching. She received a Master's Degree in Special Education from Emporia State University. She taught special education in Kansas, California, and Arizona. God blessed her with incredible patience and she found great joy and satisfaction in helping children achieve academic goals. She taught until she could no longer physically do the job.
Cathy and Johnny both enjoyed traveling in their RV to visit their children and grandchildren. Cathy enjoyed cooking and baking all of her life and especially enjoyed baking items with the grand kids when they visited. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting items for her children and grandchildren which they will keep and cherish forever.
In December 2006, Johnny and Cathy moved back to Kansas from Arizona and made their home in Lincoln. The move allowed Cathy to be closer to her pulmonary hypertension specialist in Kansas City so that she could get the care that she needed.
