Morton, of Hallandale, Florida, passed away February 1, 2004.
Morty was born in Philadelphia, PA where he was raised and lived most of his life. He worked in the retail industry and sold everything from shoes to stationary. He also worked for Bob Nash in the music industry and sold jazz records and tapes. "Uncle Morty" continued to amaze his friends and family with his knowledge of jazz and the jazz greats of the present, and particularly the past. During World War II Morty served in the Air Force, where he was a navigator of Bombardier planes.
