Happy Camp, Calif. —
Leora Belle (Landrum) Zink, a 75-year-old Happy Camp resident, passed away on Feb. 1, 2010.
She was born in Fort Jones on Jan. 7, 1935 to Roy and Ruby Landrum. Leora was raised and attended school in Fort Jones.
Leora raised five sons. She moved to Happy Camp to help her parents, where she met Don Zink. They were married in Lakeport, Calif. on June 17, 1995. Leora enjoyed going to yard sales and visiting with family. She dearly loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and wood cutting with her husband.
Leora is survived by her husband Don Zink of Happy Camp; five sons, Randy Skillin of Yreka, Rick Skillin of Yreka, Bruce Skillin and his wife Kathy of Roseburg, Ore., Kevin Skillin and his wife April of Yreka, and Shawn Skillin of Yreka.
Leora is also survived by five step-children, Connie (Dave) Rasmussen of Happy Camp, Mark (Gloria) Zink of Mt. Angle, Ore., Tim (Linda) Zink of Happy Camp, Christy (Steve) DeBonis of Cottonwood, and Dennis (Andie) Zink of Palm Springs, Calif.; her brothers, Jim Landrum of Yreka and Boyd Landrum of Roseburg, Ore.; and her sister Joan of Kentucky. Leora is survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Leora will be dearly missed by her family.
Services will be held in Happy Camp at the Karuk Tribe's multi-purpose room, 64236 Second Ave. at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent, in Leora's name to the Happy Camp Ambulance, P.O. Box 597, Happy Camp, CA 96039 or to a charity of one's choice.
