Faulkville - Mrs. Janie M. Cannon, 58, died on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Memorial Health University Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
The Long County native attended Liberty Pentecostal Church and retired from the Iron Workers Local Union #709.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam J. Swindell. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, George Steve Cannon of Faulkville; children, Michele Smith of Pooler, Jakob, Steven and Ashley Cannon all of Faulkville; grandchildren, Chelsea and Jerry Smith, Cody, Justis, Kirstyn and Trevor Cannon; mother, Louise Knighten of Pooler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Fred Helmuth of Savannah, Ruth and James Rogers of Cynthiana, IN and Judy and Bobby Surrency of Baxley; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Janet Swindell of Port Wentworth; mother-in-law, Addie Mae Cannon of Bloomingdale and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of the funeral home.
Interment: Westside Memorial Gardens .
