Lillian C. Denning, 94, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 22 at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday (tonight) at the funeral home. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Lillian was born on January 28, 1917, the daughter of Demmsa and Rhodie Baker in Des Moines, where she had lived most of her life. She graduated from East High School and worked as a bookkeeper for HE Sorenson for over 40 years. Lillian was a member of Staves Memorial United Methodist Church and loved to travel.

Lillian is survived by her son, William (Judy) Denning of Hollister, MO; two grandsons, David (Tammy) and Bill Denning; three step grandchildren, Deborah (Bruce) Bogle, Rodger (Tami) Freel and Stephan Freel; three great grandchildren, Emily, Lily and Billy Denning; four step great grandchildren, Justin (Brandi) and Jeremy Bales and Nathan and Joshua Freel and ten step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard W. Denning; brother, Bill and five sisters, Irene, Arlene, Peg, Jessie and Dovey.
