Blackie Wagner, Constable, Dies

Anaconda - Gilmore H. (Blackie) Wagner, constable and merchant policeman, died Saturday in the Montana State Hospital at Galen. His home was at 305½ E. Park.

He was born in Wisconsin Nov. 7, 1901. He came to Anaconda from Fargo, N.D., in 1946 and was employed by the Anaconda Co. several years. During the past six years, he had been a merchant policeman in Anaconda and for the past five years had been a constable. He owned and operated the Wagner Ice Cream parlor at 305 E. Park for several years.

Surviving are sons, Dave Wagner, San Jose, Calif.; Charles Wagner, New York City; Thomas Wagner, United States Army; a stepson, Arthur Ellison, Pensacola, Fla.; daughters, Mrs. Richard Kai, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Donald Nelson, Mrs. Robert LaFleur, Seattle; Darlene Wagner, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Mrs. Grant Gabrielson, Big Sandy.

The body is in the Fischer Funeral chapel.

Wagner Funeral To Be Wednesday

Anaconda - Funeral services for Gilmore Wagner will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fischer Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Howard Huff of the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lower Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wagner was a merchant policeman and constable. He died Saturday at Galen.
