Winston Ellis
A memorial service will begin at noon Wednesday at Camas United Methodist Church for Winston Ellis, 87, who died at her Vancouver home Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.
Mrs. Ellis, who began taking piano lessons at an early age, was a Camas High School accompanist for four years. She won several local and state music contests, graduated from Camas High School and earned a music degree from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. Mrs. Ellis attended Juilliard School of Music in New York City and did graduate work in organ and piano. She was a member of Phi Beta Music and Drama Fraternity.
Mrs. Ellis was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Camas and recently moved back to Clark County to be with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra, in 1989, and a son, Don, in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, W. Kay Ellis of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Susan Fletcher of Vancouver; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Camas Cemetery. Straubs Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
