Charles David Crawford, 83, 1400 LaPlante Street, Sioux City, Iowa, died at a hospital here Wednesday, September 19, 1956, at 5:15 p.m. after a long illness.

Mr. Crawford was born February 19, 1873, in Allen County, Ohio. He moved to Hawarden at the age of 25 and Married Anna Theresa Bultman there April 4, 1901. They farmed near Merrill for nearly 30 years before moving to Sioux City in March 1955. Mr. Crawford was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Merrill.

Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Amanday Bucy of So. Sioux City, Nebraska, Mrs. Minnie Carlson of Bronson, Iowa, Mrs. Martha Dallen and Mrs. Mabel Peters, both of Sioux City; five sons, Harvey, George, Howard and Donald, all of Sioux City, and John of Merrill, 30 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Della Wurmser and Mrs. Emma Stoddard both of Lima, Ohio, Mrs. Bertha Sisk of Flint, Michigan, and Mrs. Mattie Mathwig of California; three brothers, Harry of Huntington, Indiana, Guy of Lima, Ohio, and William of Elida, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two sons, Harry Franklin of Sioux City and Martin Garfield, daughter Dorothy Millage of LaCrescenta, California, and his parents John Morgan Alexander Crawford and Amelia Martha Richards Crawford.

Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City under the direction of the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
