DAYTON EDMOND PORTERFIELD, age 86 of Murfreesboro died Friday March 11, 2011. He was a native of Murfreesboro and was the son of the late, Robert Lee and Bertha Elizabeth Hill Porterfield. Mr. Porterfield was a member of First Free Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the Murfreesboro Fire Department Mr. Porterfield loved to sing Gospel Music with several different groups and his wife Louise.

He is survived by his wife Louise Porterfield; daughter Becky Freeman and her husband Wayne of Louisiana; step-daughter, Sharon Hudgens and husband Lee of Bell Buckle; grandchildren, Trent Duke, and wife Chelsea, Shea Duke Juneau and husband Daniel, Austin Duke; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Allie, Kaylee, Aubree Duke and Cameron Juneau.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bobby Wheeler and Bro. J. Morgan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with honors from the Murfreesboro Fire Department. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 7:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel 893-5151 www.woodfinchapel.com
