Gladys E. Beerens

FALMOUTH – Gladys E. Beerens, age 81, of McBain went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2011 at her son's home, in the loving arms of her family.

She was born on May 27, 1929 in Aetna Township, Missaukee County to Gerrit and Ethel (Armstead) Jenema. She married Ralph 'Bob' Beerens June 25, 1948 at the Aetna Christian Reformed Church, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2000. She was a member of the Falmouth Reformed Church and the Ladies Evening Fellowship. Every Tuesday, she would meet her lady friends at the restaurant in Falmouth for coffee.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, reading and helping others. She really enjoyed being with family and doing all she could to help them out, even canning hundreds of jars of vegetables and fruit for them because that is just the type of thing she did for her family.

She is survived by her children, Beverly (Roger) Hamming, Ronald (Carol) Beerens, Jerry (Leslee) Beerens and Jeff (Lynnette) Beerens, all of McBain, and Ronda (Jay) Salisbury of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Michelle and Heather Chilson, Craig (Jenny) Beerens and children Hayden and Addison, Carrie (John) VanderWall and children Dylan, Nathan and Jared, Shawn (Mandy) Beerens and child Nyah, Beth Beerens, Waylon, Rebecca (Lynn) Cline, Saffron, Jerry William Beerens, Colton, Chad Beerens, Nathan Beerens, Clayton Salisbury and Corrine (Nathan) Farr and child Kristen; sister, Bonnie Veddler of Marion; in-laws, Genevieve Jenema of Falmouth, Mable Jenema of Cadillac, Evie Jenema of Grand Rapids, Don Meekhof of McBain, Karen Jenema of Rockford, Laurdean Beerens of McBain, Greta Vernier of McBain, Margaret VanderMey of Old Mission, Harriet Johnson of Marion and Lucy Medendorp of McBain; and many other relatives.
