Ruth Evelyn Kaus, 58, of Hinckley, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
She was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Morris, the daughter of Rasmus and Lucille (Wallin) Viland.
Ruth was united in marriage Aug. 9, 1975, to James Kaus, the father of her children. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Batavia. Ruth was employed as the bookstore manager by Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She enjoyed being outside on the farm. Ruth was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Peter (Andrea Herrmann) Kaus of Sugar Grove; her parents, Rasmus and Lucille Viland of Hinckley; her sisters, Isabelle (Arlow) Hushagen of Fergus Falls, Minn., Dorothy (Rick) Gum of Big Rock, and Vilma (Darrell) Michael of Hinckley; her brother, Victor (Barbara) Viland of Hinckley; her sister-in-law, Marlene Viland of Cortland; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Kaus; her son, Kyle Kaus; and her brother, Rasmus Viland II.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road, Batavia, with Reverend Ronald Weidler officiating. Interment will follow in the Miller Cemetery in Hinckley.
Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley.
