George Henry Roberts was the brother of my Great Great Grandmother Sarah Jane Roberts Turney. He along with his mother Ellen Crabtree raised all the Turney children after they were orphaned at a young age. My Great Grandfather James Andrew Turney and his younger brother Daniel Turney went to Indian Territory with the George Henry Robert's family. I have several newspaper articles confirming that George Henry Roberts operated a sawmill 7 miles south of Melrose, Kansas along the Neosho River in the Miami Nation, Indian Territory. This area would be NW of the modern town of Miami, Oklahoma. I believe George Henry Roberts was in the Miami Nation along with my Great Grandparents from about 1884 to 1899 when he moved to Arkansas. My Great Grandfather moved to Joplin, Missouri about this same time.

I have discovered another daughter of George Henry Roberts and his second wife Margaret E. Martin. There are a couple of newspaper articles stating they had a daughter Eva Roberts who died in the Miami Nation at his sawmill on Jan 12, 1899. Eva Roberts was about 12 years old. I believe she might have been buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Melrose, Kansas because there are several other family members buried there who died during this time period.
