Louise worked at Parkview Hospital and Nash General Hospital. She was in the health industry for over 42 years. She also loved to travel together with her loving husband.
Louise leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 58 years, James Owen Lewis Sr.; two sons, Mike Lewis and wife Vickie of Nashville, and Jimmy Lewis and wife Joanne of Nashville; four granddaughters, McCaffity Louise Lewis, Diane McCracken, Tracy Whitton and Megan Flowers; and five loving great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. George Jeffreys, Jr. of Williamston; two foster brothers, Angus McDiarmid of Seattle, Washington and John McDiarmid of Medford, Oregon; and foster sister, Kathy M. Jensen of Monument, Colorado.
The family received friends and relatives from 7-8:30p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate her life was held at 11:00a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 in the Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jacky Raper and Dr. George Jeffreys Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
