Joni was born July 22, 1955 in Allen County. Surviving are a twin sister, Jackie, a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Myers of Craigville Route 1. An older sister died several years ago of Leukemia.
At Norwell, she was a member of the International Art Club and the Girls Athletic Association. With her family members she attended the Tocsin United Methodist Church. Joni along with her sister, Jackie had assisted their mother in catering for several wedding receptions and special parties in the county. The Elzey Funeral Home in Ossian is in charge with services to be Wednesday in the Tocsin Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tocsin Cemetery.

Norwell student killed in mishap
Miss Joan D. (Joni) Myers, 16-year-old sophomore at Norwell high school, was killed at 9:40 p.m. Saturday when the auto in which she was riding went out of control and struck a utility pole on Ind. 1, four miles north of Bluffton.
Miss Myers, a passenger in the car driven by Douglas J. Waters, 16, of 518 South Oak street, Bluffton, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Myers of Craigville route 1.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard Rich, Wells county deputy coroner……
Miss Myers was active in the Norwell International Art club and the Girls Athletic association.
Surviving in addition to the parents are a twin sister, Jackie; and a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Myers of Craigville.
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Tocsin United Methodist church. Friends may call at the Elzey funeral home in Ossian after 7 p.m. today until noon Wednesday.
