Nobility, second daughter of Boleslaw of Kalisch and Blessed Jolantha-Helena of Hungary. She married Wladislaw the Elbow-high of Poland in 1293. After the death of her cousin King Przemysl II her husband had to flee from Poland, because the new king Wenceslaus II was a bitter rival. Hedwig and her children went into hiding. Wladislaw returned to Poland after the death of Wenceslaus II, and the assassination of his son Wenceslaus III, and was able to conquer the throne. She helped him in his policiy to reunite the polish territories. They were crowned on January 20th 1320 in the Cathedral of Krakow. After his death she retired to Stary Sacz where she died.
