After finishing high school, Joyce moved to Sonoma, California and joined the Womens Army Corp (WAC) 29 March 1945. Joyce worked at Perrin Air Force Base, in a Civil Service position, until it closed.
Joyce is the mother of James Rodney Rogers Williams and Nancy Jo Williams. Sister of; Wanda, Opal, Betty, Emogene, Tom, Janis, Mack, Carolyn, Marilyn and Dalton Stallings.
