Cynthia E. Herald, 90, of Nampa, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 11, 1994, at Hospice House in Nampa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Persons- Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Pastor John V. Silliker, retired, of the American Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
Cynthia Ellen Herald was born Feb. 21, 1904, at Leedey, Okla., a daughter of Martin and Lulu Caswell Saling. As a small child, she moved with her parents to Thomas, Okla., where she was raised and educated. There she met Ted C. Herald. They were married Aug. 9, 1922, in Clinton, Okla. They moved to Nampa later in 1922. Mr. Herald passed away Feb. 7, 1973.
She loved to crochet and especially to work with ceramics. Her family will always treasure the many heirlooms she created for them.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita and Gilbert Davis and Oneta and John Silliker, all of Nampa; a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Karon Herald of Nampa; two brothers, Mac Saling of Barstow, Calif., and Murray Saling of Madison, Wisc.; one sister, Iva Wyatt of Winter Springs, Fla.; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice House, care of Mercy Medical Center, 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa 83686, or flowers may be sent.
