C. E. (Ed) Kidder, 82 of Ironton, died Wednesday at 7:30 am at the Lawrence County Hospital at Ironton. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Hillsboro area until 11 years ago when he moved to Ironton.
He was born in Brooksville, KY, March 18, 1884, the son of Nick and Rebecca (Mitchell) Kidder. His first wife, Carrie, predeceased him January 27, 1955. He married Nettie Massie in Apr 1956.
He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dora Glaze of Hillsboro, Mrs. Betty Carey of Hillsboro Rt. 3, and Mrs. Mable Cornwell of Degraff; 5 sons, William of Willoughby, Orville of Clermont FL, Russell of Indianapolis IN, James of Urbana, and Hartsel of Indiana; 2 step sons; Burton Massie of Hartford CT, and Forest Massie of Stratford CT; one sister, Mrs. Viola Storer of Lawshe; 44 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren;and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday at the Rhoads Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Rev. Glen Curtis officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2pm Friday.
