Obituary in The Chattanooga Times, 30 Jul 1986: " COBB -- JAMES KENNETH SR, 51, of Hamill Road, Hixon, died Monday in a local hospital. A lifelong Chattanooga-area resident, he retired from the traffic investigation department of the Chattanooga Police Department after 24 years of service. He was also a member of the DUI Task Force of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. A U.S. Marine Corps Reserve veteran, he was a member of Rossville Girst Baptist Church and attended its Ken Wistern Sunday School Class. He was a member of Mountain City Lodge 549 F&AM. A former coach in the Dupont-Rosemont Little League, he was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn DeRossett Cobb. Survivors include his wife Earline T. Cobb; three sons, James K. Cobb Jr., Melbourne, Fla., William P. and Christopher A. Cobb, both of Hixon; four daughters, Sherry C. Burgess, Rebecca, Beth and Lisa Marie Cobb, all of Hixon; father, Leslie W. Cobb, Chattanooga; two granddaughters...."
