He worked as a coppersmith in the shops of the Great Northern Railway and served as an international representative for the Sheet Metal Workers Union.

Obituary in "Labor," a national weekly newspaper published in Washington, DC, September 18, 1954, page 2: "Corrigan of Sheet Metal Workers Dies - St. Paul, Minn, Sept 15 - Arthur Corrigan, 68, a former international representative for the Sheet Metal Workers on the railroads, died at his home this week. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Corrigan retired from his union position on Sept. 1, 1951. He was well know both on the roads and in the union, having served as representative for a number of years."
