OBIT: John L. Wilson-

John L. Wilson was born Feb. 17, 1900 at Canton, Ill, the son of Katie Faass and John C. Wilson. He passed away Aug. 16, 1976, at the Bates County Memorial Hospital at the age of 76.

Mr. Wilson had been employed at the Witte Engine works in Kansas City, Mo., for 42 years before retiring in 1965. He had previously lived in Harrisonville and moved back to Bates County in January 1969, where he had spent most of his life. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie P. Wilson of the home; three sons, B. E. Wilson of Rushville, Ill.; Leslie D. Wilson of Orange, Calif.; Dwayne Wilson of Ananheim, Calif.; one daughter, Miss Sue Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.; one stepson, Gordon Craig of Blue Springs, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Norma Guenther of Butler and Nadine Arnold of Ravtown, Mo. He is further survived by one brother, Keith Wilson of Wray, Colo.. and one sister, Mrs. Amy Pyle of Butler; also 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug 18, 1976, at the Assembly of God Church in Butler, with the Rev. Warren Davenport officiating with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Underwood-Steinbeck.
