ROSSVILLE, GA - Venice Kay Hodge, 67, of Rossville passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and north Georgia area.
Kay retired in 2004 from Oriental Weavers with 10 years of service, and she had also worked at Standard-Coosa-Thatcher with 23 years of service.
Her passions in life were her family, camping, bird watching and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Grace Pearson; and two brothers, Lavon and Jerry Pearson.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Dewey Hodge; children, Sonya (Sofonias) Martinez, of Dalton, Jeffrey Harold Tate, of Texas, James Preston Tate, of Chattanooga, and Edward Pearson Tate, of Chattanooga; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the South Crest Chapel with Chaplain Pat Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. Friday until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville, GA.
