He married Anna Gertrude Sherrard on 15 April 1917 in the home of Gertrude's Aunt and Uncle in Mexia, Texas.
He and Gertrude moved to Waxahachie, Texas, where Taze owned and operated a jewelry store on the square.
He and Gertrude had three children:
Frances Evelyn Toone (Austin): 18 Mar 1918-12 Dec 1987;
Lois Marie Toone (West): 12 Oct 1920-11 Aug 1992; and
Thomas Edwin Toone: 30 May 1927-6 May 2009.

Funeral services for Taze E Toone, 66, of Dallas, father of Mrs. James West of Corsicana, were held Thursday at 3 p.m. from the Rudolph Chapel of the Chimes in Waxahachie. Burial was in the Waxahachie city cemetery. He was a retired jeweler. The rites were conducted by Rev. Floyd Johnson, pastor of the First Methodist church in Waxahachie. Toone died in a Dallas Hospital Wednesday night. A native of Thornton, he moved to Waxahachie in 1918 and to Dallas three years ago. He was a Methodist. Surviving are his wife of Dallas; a son, Thomas Toone, Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. B F. Austin, Beaumont, and Mrs. West, Corsicana; five grandchildren and other relatives.
