James Richard Toone was the son of George Samuel Houston Toone and Mary Ann Daley Toone.
He married Cornelia Elizabeth Jones on 19 December 1889 in Limestone County, Texas.
He and Lizzie had four children:
Taze Ezelle Toone - 1890-1957;
Clarabelle "Clara" Toone (Stroud) - 1894-1944
Her twin brother Claud Toone - 1894-1895; and
Maybelle Toone (Sweatt) - 1905-1944.
James served as the Waxahachie City Marshall for many years. He later lost his left leg to diabetes. James was a good man as was his wife.
