She and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. They owned a house on Cherry St. for many years until it was torn down by the city to widen the street. They next moved to Hollyrood St. which is the house I remember. She lived in Winston until George died. She came to Greensboro and lived with us until she fell and broke both hips and had to go to a nursing home. She loved to crochet and made some beautiful doiles and afghans.
When her and her siblings came to US they altered thier names. They took thier fathers name Abraham as thier last name. I have looked at all the available records for the family and there are many variations. I hope that someday someone will recognise the names and put together who thier family was that immigrated to America. Thier surname was Pavlos, also written as Pavlides. Thier father was Abraham Paulides Pavlos. He may have been called "Abraham" or "Paul" He lived in Samatya, Istanbul, Turkey until his death about 1921. He had a younger brother there whose name was Mich Pavlos. They may have been farmers or made rugs. I have a photo of them in c1889 when Katina was born.
