Downing, Earl E., age 59, of 2405 Rosemont Blvd., passed away Thursday. He was owner and operator of Earl Downing & Son Transmission Service, Springfield St., for 37 years. He was an Honorary Member of VFW, member of Fraternal Order of Police. Survived by his wife Marie E., 3 daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Haas, Mrs. Mary Mahan both of Dayton, Mrs. Carol O'Cull of Ocala, Fla., 4 sons Donald H., Ft. Wayne, Ind., Walter E., Pompano Beach, Fla., Virgil L. and Daniel W. both of Dayton, 4 sisters, Mrs. Mary Reed, Mrs. Mildred Perkey, Mrs. Esther Spring, Mrs. Virginia Rhoades, 5 brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Wilbur, Raymond all of Dayton, and Paul, Camden, Mo., 25 grandchildren. Funeral services 9 a.m. Monday, Luthman Funeral Home, 364 Xenia Ave. Mass of the Resurrection 9:30 a.m. Immaculate Conception Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donation s be made to the Heart Fund.
