Mr. Kostellic was born March 23, 1921, in Granville, Ill., and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1941. He was retired from the United States Air Force as a Major where he was employed in Aircraft Maintenance, Intelligence and Administration. He served both in Europe and the Pacific. He later retired from the Gulfport Police Department in 1986 as a Major, Administrative Officer. He was a member of the Reserve Officers' Association of the U.S., the Retired Officer's Association, American Legion Post 119 in Gulfport, Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Association and the Tennessee and Mississippi Sheriff's and Peace Officers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frolin F. Kostellic Sr.; and two brothers, David Kostellic and Timothy Kostellic.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Taconi Kostellic of Gulfport; a daughter, Margaret Strnad of Gulfport; two sons, Paul Kostellic of Tucson, Ariz., and Terry L. Kostellic of Gulfport; three brothers, Donald Kostellic, Leonard Kostellic and Raymond Kostellic; and a sister, Joyce Ann Mix, all of Illinois; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A service will be at 11 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi with full military honors. Copy
