BATTLES -- James J. , went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 24, 2001. He was a resident at the VA Center in Claremore. Daughter Gloria & son Randall preceded him in death. * He served his country in the Air Force as a Radio Gunner, was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Akdar Shrine and was the oldest Deacon at Belview Baptist Church. He retired from Piping Engineers as a Welder. Fishing and growing flowers were his hobbies which brought him great joy. He was a wonderful, caring person and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001, Belview Baptist Church with burial at Rose Hill Memorial Park. Rose Hill 835-4421. (Tulsa World)
