Mrs. Wilemina Somsen, age 77, of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, September 9, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Wilemina Hendrieka was born August 30,1915, at Alton, the daughter of Cornelius and Hendrieka (Geurink) Muyskens. She was raised at Alton.

On June 13,1945, she married Harry Somsen at Orange City. They made their home in Woodville, Wisconsin, until 1970, when they moved to Orange City. "Mina" was then employed by the food service and housekeeping departments of Northwestern College in Orange City, retiring in 1984. Mr. Somsen passed a way October 13,1985, at Orange City.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church and the Lydia Circle of the church. She also served as a Stephen's Minister.

Survivors include seven children, Cornelius and his wife, Glenda; and Ruth and her husband Tom Keizer, all of Minnetonka, Minnesota; the Rev. Philip and his wife, Evelyn, of Inwood; Rachel and her husband, Dan Tkach, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Miriam and her husband, Mark Vellinga, of Orange City; Lois and her husband, Tim Ditmer, of Denver, Colorado; and Eunice and her husband, Keith Stroh, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; ten grandchildren, Mary and Jon Somsen; Alaina and Brandon Keizer; Alissa, Leah, and Coby Somsen; and Brittany, Abby, and Tyler Vellinga; and brother, Dick Muyskens, of Edgerton, Minnesota.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter, Harriet; five brothers, Henry, John, George, Peter, and Case (her twin) Muyskens; and three sisters, Mathilda and Grace Korver, and Kathryn Hibma.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 14, at the First Reformed Church of Orange City, with the Rev; Steven Vander Molen officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
