Sarah Ellen Montgomery Jenkins is the daughter of James Montgomery & Azelene Stewart(wife of 1.James Montgomery, 2.Samuel Donnell,& 3.Joab McManus).

Funeral services for one of Athens oldest, best known and well liked citizens, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Jenkins, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church. Rev. Clyde Nichols, former pastor of the church, officiated.
Mrs. Jenkins, 91, died Wednesday afternoon after an illness of two months. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
Born July 7, 1858 in Mississippi, Mrs. Jenkins came to Texas with her late husband in 1884. They moved to Athens in 1886, where Dr. Jenkins opened the first dental office in this city in 1887.
Throughout her life in Athens, Mrs. Jenkins was active in both church work and social circles. She was a charter member of the First Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in this city.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Irene Steele of Athens and one brother, T.C. Donnell of Artesia, New Mexico.
Pallbearers were Earl Cockran, Fon Taylor, Few Hawkins, M.F. Wood, Newbern Stirman and Bennett Smith.
Hassell-Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
