Early in her life she became a member of the Church of Christ. In 1880 she was united in marriage with Jacob Peters. To this union were born 11 children, 10 of whom survive her. Her husband preceded her in death 18 years ago. She departed this life March 15, 1944.
The children left to mourn her passing are: Cleve Peters, Lindsay; Mrs. Mary Mowdy, Alex; Mrs. Martha Rawls, Coolidge, Arizona; Cpl. Jake Peters, Enid Army Air Field; Jim Peters, Houston, Texas; Robert Peters, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Margaret Harrison, Mrs. Alpha Nichols, Sam Peters, and Hiram Peters, all of Blanchard. She also leaves 33 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four sisters, two brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Peters and family moved from Lindsay to Blanchard 25 years ago. They owned and operated the Blanchard Hotel from the fall of 1919 until Jacob's death in December of 1926.
Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lonnie Ward of Dibble officiating. All of the children except one, Mrs. Rawls, were present at the funeral. Interment was in the Blanchard cemetery.
