Just 11 years later, he was one of the incorporators of the succeeding firm, the Hamlin Bunk and Trust Co.

During the course of his long banking career, Mr. Burdick, on countless occasions, was called to give his sound financial advice.
Fellow bankers often commented on the fact that his business acumen at times was almost unbelievable.
Not only did Mr. Burdick play a leading role in the start of many a budding business career, but he also was a friend in need to those who found that death had created a complicated family and business financial problems.
One of McKean County's pioneer motorists, no one could give a total of the times Mr. Burdick, contributing generously of his time and motor vehicles, drove in funeral processions. His favorite spot was at the head of the cortege, where he provided transportation for the minister or priest.
Scores affectionately remember the distinguished-looking banker as a friend whose personnel interest in the troubles of others far transcended the ordinary bounds of his profession.
A longstanding member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church here, he was treasurer and a vestryman of that church until ill health forced his retirement. Even after his retirement, however, he was retained as an honorary vestryman.
For more than 50 years he was a member of McKean Lodge 388, Free and Accepted Masons, and was at one time master of that lodge. Mr. Burdick also was a member of the Coudersport Consistory; Zem Zem Temple of Erie; Smethport Lodge 389, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; the Encampment of the Odd Fellows Lodge: and of the Smethport Volunteer Fire Department.
