Mrs. Hazel E. (Stark) Brummett Copple, 80, a former Lafayette resident, died at 8:55 PM Friday, Oct. 20, 1978, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, where she was admitted Oct. 15. She had been ill one month and was a resident of Hoover Wood Nursing Home before entering the hospital. Born June 14, 1898, in White County, she lived most of her life in the Lafayette area.

She was first married to William Brummett in 1915; he died in 1949. Her second marriage was in 1958 to the Rev. Alfred W. Copple, who was minister of the Brethren Church at Los Angeles, CA, at the time of his death in 1962.

Mrs. Copple was a member of the Pentecostal Church at Frankfort.

Surviving are six daughters, Sally (Mrs. John) Hoshaw of Lafayette, Fern (Mrs. Lee) Beckelheimer of Frankfort, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Mrs. Elsie Seaman, both of Indianapolis, Vivian (Mrs. David) Summit of Bloomington, and Sarah (Mrs. Julius) Hartwig of Monroe, WI; four sons, Donald Brummett of Attica, William Brummett of Monticello, Arza Brummett of Nashville, IN, and Russell Brummett of Lincoln, CA;
a sister, Mrs. Flora Terry; 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Brummett, Sr. in 1967.
