Benjamin F. Sherrod Dead.
Benjamin F. Sherrod, aged 68 years, died Monday Morning at his residence on West Third street after a
lingering illness of paralysis.
Mr. Sherrod was one of the early settlers of Greer county, he filing on a claim northeast of town at the
opening. He removed to Granite some eight years ago, where he had made his home ever since. Mr. Sherrod
was a member of the Baptist church and was held in high esteem by friends and neighbors Deceased is
survived by a sister, Miss Annie Sherrod, who is also one of the early settlers of this section.
The funeral took place from the residence Tuesday afternoon with interment in the Rock Cemetery, Chaplin
Smith of the reformatory being in charge of the services.
