Arthur B. Wertz

BOISE — Arthur B. Wertz, 78, of Boise, formerly of Meridian died Monday at a Boise hospital.

He was born on March 4, 1897 in Star, Neb. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He married Twinkle Boyd on March 27, 1929, in Madison, Neb. They came to Idaho in 1940 and farmed in the Eagle and Meridian areas before moving to Boise in 1953.

Surviving are his wife of Boise; a daughter, Guila Ford of Boise; a brother, Leland Wertz, Mesa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. A son, Alexander R. Wertz died in 1969.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dry Creek Cemetery by Rev. Peter Osterlin of the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Friends may call until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Summers Funeral Home, Boise.

Memorials may be made to the Mountain Slates Tumor Institute.
