Worcester - Florence M. (Matyczynski) Sheehan, 77, of 12 Colton Street, Worcester, a retired food service worker, was stricken ill at home and died Tuesday, April 09, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
Her husband of 39 years, Thomas J. Sheehan, died in 1999. She leaves a brother, Walter Matyczynski of Lansing, Mich.; nieces and nephews. A sister, Helen B. LaPointe, died in 1993. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Stanislaus and Sophie (Wenglarski) Matyczynski.
Mrs. Sheehan worked 19 years in food service at College of the Holy Cross, retiring in 1992. Previously, she worked for MKM Hosiery Mills, Rochdale section of Leicester. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 12, from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 9a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations made to Animal Shelter, Inc., 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
